About Me

Michelle has been teaching privately and in schools for 15 years. Originally from California, she moved to London to train at the Royal Academy of Music and later at the Royal Northern College of Music. Her extensive studies at music conservatoire and international masterclasses gave her the opportunity to learn from world-renown cellists and pedagogues many of whom made their mark on how she plays and teaches. She is a caring and professional teacher who is highly accountable towards her students' progress and well-being.

Michelle plays as a freelancer with major UK orchestras including the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and was previously on trial for the Sub-Principal Cello position with Royal Scottish National Orchestra, with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and is currently on trial with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. She lives in Bermondsey with her husband, listens to a lot of music when not playing (not only classical), likes to gather and cook, swims, yogas, and seeks inspiration from everywhere!

Michelle holds a certificate for enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check for working with children. She is a member of the professional body, the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
